Performs “American Slang” with fellow New Jersey Rockers
By Rolling Stone
Bruce Springsteen was the surprise guest at the Gaslight Anthem’s show at the Convention Hall in Asbury Park, N.J., Friday night. According to NJ.com, Springsteen joined the band onstage midway through its set to sing and play guitar on “American Slang.” This isn’t the first time Springsteen has performed with the Gaslight Anthem. In 2009, he played “The 59 Sound” with them at two shows in England.
And this isn’t the only time Gaslight Anthem have been paying respect to rock elder statesmen this week. They’re also included in Amnesty International’s massive four-disc Bob Dylan tribute, where they cover “Changing of the Guards.” You can stream the entire tribute today, December 10th, by liking Amnesty International on Facebook.
